Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering has triumphed over compatriot Sapura Energy to win the engineering, procurement and construction prize for the production platform for Shell’s $1 billion Rosmari-Marjoram sour gas development offshore Sarawak, East Malaysia.

The offshore platform, which will be powered by solar, will be able to handle up to 800 million cubic feet per day of gas. Produced volumes will be utilised as feedstock at the Petronas LNG Complex at Bintulu. MMHE's workscope includes the four-legged jacket, topsides and piles for the 8000-tonne platform that will be constructed with a 20-year design life.
