Idemitsu Kosan Co. said its unit has agreed to sell part of oil development stakes in the Barents Sea, Norway to Lundin Energy AB for $125 million.

The Japanese energy company said Tuesday that the sale is aimed at reducing development costs.

Idemitsu Kosan said the sale is subject to approval by the Norwegian government and it hasn't yet been determined when the transaction will be completed.
